Review of Unbreakable (2000) by Matt G — 19 Apr 2017
Shyamalan's on-screen confidence often crosses over into arrogance...but not here; this is pure, solid storytelling. In one of the slowest superhero movies ever (which really isn't a terrible thing), the premise that humans with special abilities could live among us is completely bought into.
The gun scene alone may be among the strongest in either Shyamalan's or Willis's careers; palpably tense and heartbreaking, much like the film as a whole.
