Review of Unbreakable (2000) by Kyle N — 01 Apr 2011

I'm a huge fan of M. Night Shymalan, all his movies have a strong mood, and atmosphere. Most people would say that Lady in the water, or the Happening, was his worst movie. Personally, I think Unbreakable is, but that doesn't mean it's bad, it just wasn't very entertaining.

Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson are both good actors, but I don't think they ever smile in this movie. Foget the acting, most of this movie was talking, and I'm more of a fan of action, or suspense, and this movie didn't really deliver. Some parts were just boring, and I felt like falling asleep.

Did this mean I hated the movie, no, I thought it was OK, but it is easily Shymalan's worst film yet. He spends too much time developing the characters, which is pretty dull. So it's a good movie, but if I would skip over a shymalan movie, this would be it.
