Review of U.N. Me (2012) by Mike F — 10 Jun 2012
Not much to it. Horowitz is a Michael Moore wannabe without Moore's imagination, and his inability or unwillingness to analyze the UN's many failings seriously makes the flick demonstrably dishonest.
That Horowitz is a rightwing Zionist hack adds nothing at all to the presentation. I saw it in New York last week - one of exactly 5 people in the theater. And while it could have been worse (while we are spared the paranoid Tea Party conspiracy theories of the UN, we are served instead a smug, starchy and, at this point thorougfhly discredited neo-conservative narrative, flavored with a heavy dose of Likud anti-Arabism).
Happily it will sink into the obscurity it so richly deserves. Michael Moore would have done it better, funnier, and much more honestly.
