Review of Un Chien Andalou (1929) by Magdalena G — 16 Nov 2009
The opening scene to this short film shows a man holding a straight razor over a woman's eye, then a thin bank of clouds bisects a full moon, and then an eyeball is shown in close-up as a razor slashes it and viscous fluid oozes out.
Would you believe, thoughts like this floated around in filmmakers heads back in 1929? By far, this is my all time favorite short film.
