2078: The world is controlled by the Arch-Ministry under Vice Cardinal Daxus, and is in the final stages of the Blood War between Humans and Hemophages (people infected with a virus designed to create super soldiers, giving its victims the abilities commonly associated with Vampires at the price of a 12 year lifespan). The Arch-Ministry has all but exterminated the Hemophages and Daxus has created a weapon, a boy called Six, to ensure the Arch-Ministrry's victory, until Six is stolen by the Hemophage Violet. A ruthless near unstoppable killing machine Violet finds her maternal instincts awakened by Six setting her on the run from not only Daxus, who wants the boy back, but the Hemophages as well who seek to end the threat Six poses....

Not as good as Writer/Director Kurt Wimmer's first film Equalibrium (though it does feature some Gun-Kata). The film looks good mostly though some of the CGI action scenes are too noticably CGI to make them enjoyable. Nick Chinlund isn't the greatest villian ether, though Milla Jovovich is deceint (granted she's been playing the tough as nails warrior women for most of her carrier), and is probably one of the sexiest actress' out there. She manages to nail the few emotional scenes with Cameron Bright (Six, not given a whole hell of alot to do) as her warrior persona fades before her maternal side before merging with it for some serious ass kicking. Story's ok (even if some of the gadgets end up being a little to Deus Ex Machina especially in the begging) but is missing bits (I hear there was at least 30 minutes left on the cutting room floor against Wimmer and Jovovich's wishes), though the production design and cinematography assure that whatever's happening on screen looks interesting. Grew on me as it went. If your in the mood for a comic book style action movie check it out, just don't spend much time thinking about it.
