Review of Ultraviolet (2006) by Laurence C — 17 Mar 2010
An unspeakably Eurotrashy, often hilarious sub-sub-sub-Matrix surrogate that revels in its crippling awfulness. All the plotting is only supposed to make 'sense' because we've already seen pieces of it in all those other Matrix rip-offs, and of course, in their respective rip-offs, too.
Jam-packed with horrendous line deliveries, canny special effects and chopped to hell editing, Wimmer's take on the female superhero genre is practically unwatchable as a straight-up comic book movie, but still, it should nevertheless provide reasonable amounts of fun when viewed as drunken late-night mockery.
