Review of Ultraviolet (2006) by Scott C — 07 Aug 2010
:rotten: ACTION...... that's all I wanted out of this movie. But unfortunately all the action scenes were kept for the escape scenes and not for when they were actually relevant.
The acting was horrible... the lighting and special effects weren't great... the middle was BORING - and the stakes didn't pull favour.
But all that aside, I would have put up with, if the movie committed itself to gut wrenching A.D.D. non-stop action... at least when it mattered at the end. I would have put up with ANYTHING bad if it was like that. Instead you get flaming swords in the dark, where you can't really see or be impressed by it at all.
For stuff I did like - was the beginning, with dimensional clothing and gravity defying motorcycles. Corny, but cool. The beginning was FULL of fast action - but then it died out. In the end, it wasn't a good movie, and not even an action-sellout which is what I was hoping for.
Ah well. I didn't make it, so who am I to talk. Peace out - ;).
