Review of Ultraviolet (2006) by Pietro T — 07 Dec 2012
''When I was a kid... when I was just a little girl... I used to dream about this old, dusty road. And this road would go on as far as the eye could see. There were all these little white flowers growing around the edges. And it was such a peaceful place. But then you realize... when life settles in around you... places like this... don't exist.''.
A beautiful hemophage infected with a virus that gives her superhuman powers has to protect a boy in a futuristic world, who is thought to be carrying antigens that would destroy all hemophages.
Milla Jovovich: Violet.
Cameron Bright: Six.
Its a sci-fi vampire movie...that sounds bad from the start, but when I started watching I realized it was more comic book like too. In a world which has Aeon Flux, Elektra woman superhero's seem to be in a bind.
From the man who did Equilibrium you can instantly tell if you have seen it from the crazy ass shoot outs and one against thousands trick.
The acting is pretty damn awful and the story may have a few flaws. After all this is from a graphic Novel but I loved the colours and use of visuals which has an impact on my rating.
One thing did annoy me was the main villain has like nose plugs which constantly had me looking at yes you guessed it his nose...
Milla Jojovich shows off her body and does crazy stunts and kicks the crap out of legions. That's worth a watch.
Cameron Bright needs a new agent, hes type cast. His role was like X-men 3.
A solid comic book action flick let down by some poor acting and outrageous plot defects. Equilibrium still my number one.
''Hello. My name is Violet and I was born into a world you may not understand.''.
I don't either :P.
