It was made by "Weird Al" Yankovic, so you knew it was going to be weird from the start. Oh. My. Word. Basically every movie made at that time is parodied. Even the initial scene parodies Indiana Jones.
The humor is, naturally, somewhat crude, but often brilliant, as well (don't you dare tell me you would have thought of using a turtle as a suction cup! And the blind guy with the Rubik's Cube? Sheer genius).
It is Weird Al's only try at movie making, and some may think that the reason is self explanatory, but if you like his music, you will love his movie, Twinkie-weiner sandwiches and all.
