Review of UHF (1989) by John B — 28 Jul 2008
It wallows in juvenility. Its un-selfconsciously, brazenly goofy. It launches itself into absurd realms for its vignettes and lands itself suddenly to follow an actual plot arc. Its a sordid slice of camp, but goes down o so deliciously if you alienate yourself completely from things that matter in movies such as good acting.
If you regress to this movies level of sheer love of goof, you'll find you love it. It doesn't need to find an excuse for its existence, because as one character says, "Why not?".
