Udaan just brings a breath of fresh air to Indian Cinema. I went to see this movie due to its association with Anurag Kashyap and I was pretty much satisfied. The movie may be lacks in terms of star cast but it just gets to you gradually.

Its a story about a boy who returns to his father after 8 years of boarding school. He comes to know that he has a younger brother who he never know existed. The boy aspires to be a writer but his father forces him to study engineering. The boy's only ray of hope is his uncle. It just deals with all the child abuse and the parent pressure over a child. The story is good and keeps you hooked.

The direction of the movie is just superb. I couldn't believe that Vikram is a debutante in this industry. I am looking forward to his next projects.

The biggest plus of the movie is its music. I have been listening to its tracks for quite some time now and they are awesome. Amit Trivedi to me is one of the best things that happened to bollywood recently. He did an amazing job in Dev D and followed it with this one. Amit Bhattacharya's lyrics are just great. I hope he writes much more.

Acting in the movie is pretty good. Rajat Barmecha dons the role of the rebel and does justcie to the character. The real stunner in this movie is Ronit Roy who portrays the father. He is just superb in the movie. All the other people acted well.

All in all, its a nice movie and its pretty different that the usual Hindi masala.
