Review of Udaan (2010) by Sandip B — 07 Mar 2011
The first thing that appealed to me about the movie was the small town environment that it very effectively portrayed. I personally was taken right back to the township I spent a large part of my childhood in - a town which was strikingly similar to the one shown in the screen. The last time I felt like this was when I watched Manorama - six feet under.
The characters seem really real, and the acting was really good. Rajat(Rohan) was very expressive even when he was silent, and Ronit fit right into his character too.
The credit goes to the director to make the viewers emphasise with the characters so much.
I would highly recommend this to discerning movie watchers who are open to non-mainstream plots and who wouldn't want to waste their time with most of the trash coming out of bollywood.
