Not being a 'massive' U2 fan, I wasn't entirely sure how much I would like this. However, it was a great show and the 3D made it come alive. The long shots over the crowd had a real sense of depth.

Of course the music was excellent - you have to take your hat off to the quality playing of the band. The Edge is a great guitarist and the way he and Larry and Adam function as a unit is a great combination.

Bono is an accomplished frontman without being flamboyant and over the top, and he draws out the drama, intensity and meaning from each song. There are some extra 3D effects added post-production (particularly on 'The Fly' towards the end) which occasionally become slightly irksome, especially if you are keen to watch the concert as a record of the performance but, as visuals have always been a big part of U2 shows, it is not unexpected.

There are a couple of occasions where edits mid-song are slightly evident for a pedant like me (the footage was gleaned from seven different shows!). A lot of U2 standards on here including 'New Year's Day', 'Pride' and 'Bullet the Blue Sky'.

Also interesting to note the plethora of guitars employed by The Edge - two different Telecasters, three Stratocasters, a Gibson Explorer, a Gibson Les Paul and two other unidentified axes (one a Gretsch maybe?).

I thought his tone in the solo of 'Bullet the Blue Sky' was fantastic and he also sounded quite Neil Young-esque in 'One'. Anyway, a definite for U2 fans.
