Review of U2 3D (2008) by Geno V — 11 Mar 2008
The experience of sight and sound that I encountered in U23D is undeniably breathtaking at the price of just a movie ticket. I usually don't review current movies, but I couldn't let this one pass by.
The movie is able to thrive on pure adrenaline as the band performs the 14-song set. The new technology only adds to the experience, allowing the performance to really surround the audience. I've seen U2 at least a half dozen times, and included in this movie is the band's political pleas and optimism for the unification of humanity.
It just wouldn't be the same without Bono's hope for the future. This is one of those magical movie theatre moments you just can't get at home.
