Review of U2 3D (2008) by Matt J — 22 Apr 2008
This holds a lot of promise for the future of film - the 3D looks great (once you get used to the '1980's viewfinder look' - think 2 or 3 layers)' and has so much potential ... you can even see depth in the kit.
And the shots of the crowd 'moshing' show just how much depth digital 3D can get. The best 3D shots in the film though was when you are in the crowd looking up (and unfortunately this only happened twice).
Amazing as well was how much footage they actually had prior to editting. This though was the films fault...it is over-editted, to its (slight) detriment making this an extended music video rather than a concert.
It will have you wanting to sing though.
