Review of U2 3D (2008) by Julien K — 24 Apr 2008
Jaw-droppingly spectacular in 3D IMAX, with a better sound than you'd ever experience in a stadium (you can hear every note from Adam Clayton's bass). If a criticism is to be made, it's that U2 have come to rely on the grandeur of their shows, rather than music itself, to generate the excitement: all the songs are reassuringly close to their recorded versions, and it's the typical U2 set (classic anthems, plus selected tracks from the "new" album of 2004).
