Review of U-571 (2000) by Terry W — 26 Mar 2010
A lot of people seem to hate this movie because of its historical inaccuracy. Not being too knowledgeable on the ins and outs of life as a submariner during the second world war I watched it solely as a movie and not as an educational tool, and found it very enjoyable.
It's nicely paced with good moments of tension and the action scenes are well done. Watch out for the really bad cgi effect at the end though when the destroyer is blown up.
