Review of U-571 (2000) by Andrew A — 07 Jan 2014
A group of American soldiers guide a German U-boat in enemy waters during the Second World War. U-571 doesn't feel like the most original films of its kind. Nevertheless, its competent cinematography builds up a great tense atmosphere that really makes use of the claustrophobic charge of its submarine setting and makes for a thrilling, gripping and entertaining film.
