Review of Tyrannosaur (2011) by Hassan V — 10 Mar 2012
This was a great dà (C)but film for Paddy Considine, horrible, bleak and dry. He presents one of the nastiest side of British society and it is acted superbly. The performances from Olivia Coleman, Peter Mullan and Eddie Marsan are just terrific.
So why does it not have a lasting impact? I found it just presented a version of society and not explored it to the depth. It was also a shame it relied on shocking the audience to provoke reactions a lot of the time.
Still, if he does another film it will be fascinating!
