Review of Tyrannosaur (2011) by Carrie L — 17 Sep 2012
Grim and gritty story about a temperamental man and his way of living. I like it's dark tone and I love the story. It's hard, it's not pretty - but it beautifully told and presented. This film is dominated by fantastic performances. Olivia Colman does one of the best performances of the year and Peter Mullan also does way above average. You can feel with the characters - one beeing angry at everyting, one a bit too happy.
Provoking film that you may want to look away from in certain scenes, it's not for everyone. Don't expect any big, pre-historic animals, but expect a big debut film from Paddy Considine and one of 2011's best dramas.
