Review of Tyrannosaur (2011) by Jameson W — 18 Oct 2012
Intense, disturbing and bleak. Very good central performances. As a directorial debut (from Paddy Considine) it is very good but for me I doubt I'll watch it again. It's very well acted but so bleak and depressing, there isn't much happiness in this film.
It reminded me of some of Shane Meadows films (i imagine Paddy Considine learned a lot from him) but it lacks the humour and humanity of Meadows films.
If your going to watch it prepare for violence, animal cruelty, despair and death. A good film but not one i'd experience again.
