Review of Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys (2008) by Sheaon M — 27 Sep 2008
Tyler Perry did it again. He wrote and directed a good movie and he did it without the wit and humor of Madea (then again he is the brain child behind Madea). The movie was filled with comedy, drama and conflict-recipe for an engaging and entertaining movie.
Perry weaved in the issue of race intricately: forging relationships between the working class black family with rich blue-blooded white family. I found it interesting how Perry deviated from the "he left me for the white secretary" and flipped the script by having the black wife leaving her husband for the white boss.
The movie was also not without moral(s): Are you existing or living? When you get the choice to sit it out or dance--dance!
