Superb drama on dooms of love with hope and tragedy at every corner. phoenix's acted magnificent as a wounded man caught between a sincere woman interested in him (vinessa shaw) and another risky siren (gwyneth paltrow) whom he's lusting after.
the end hints a hopeful conclusion or a doomed one -- you decide. always make sure an engagement ring has a return policy!!!
