Review of Two Lovers (2008) by Faith B — 17 Jul 2009
Wanted to dislike this film but was very surprised at how much I love the Phoenix character. NEw York (as it isn't seen in film much anymore) provides a great backdrop to this Boy Meets Two Girls and Screw It Up With Both Of Them romance.
Leonard is somewhat f****d up but seems monumentally more so beneath the surface so anything seems possible. At the end though, Gray wisely stays away from all the Movie of the Week possibilities and sticks with a story about how we reconcile what the heart wants and what life offers us.
