Review of Two Lovers (1928) by Joanna M — 04 Oct 2009
Joaquin's portrayal of this raw, depressed, tortured artist, quirky,love- sick middle aged man is so realistic and convincing that I identified with him on many levels. He is flawed and bored thus making the tragic Gwyneth with her own flaws and all very desirable compared to the 'sweet and nice' Jewish girl his parents hope will catch his fancy.
Everyone plays their assigned roles to the fullest, especially the frustrated and anxious parents.
