Review of Two for the Money (1972) by Robert W — 30 Dec 2012
By Zanele Jiane.
Ruthless ambition leads to ruin, This is a story about gamblers and how they won much, and lost even more, its never how much you make, its how much you save that matters.
What's noteworthy is the writers understanding of the human mind especially in matter concerning success and the fear thereof, people are inclined to fail and whenever they get an opportunity to breakthrough they unconsciously sabotage themselves. To find the breakthrough, digging a little deeper is required.
The movie chronicles the life of Brandon ( Matthew McConaughey) who suffers a sports injury that leaves him incapable of playing some more, he starts making sports predictions and he is noticed by Walter Abrams (Al Pacino) who recruits him with a offer he can't refuse. Brandon's string of wins comes to a dead end after a while, and his fall is great.
