Review of Two Evil Eyes (1990) by Ken S — 23 Feb 2014
George A. Romero and Dario Argento team up to each make a film based on the work of Edgar Allen Poe in this horror anthology film from the late-80s/early-90s. As horror anthologies go, I've seen better, in fact I've seen better work from Romero in "Creepshow".
Still this is an average horror effort from two bigs of the genre...I wouldn't say it is horrible, just not great and certainly not very memorable. It does have appearances from Carpenter classic actors like Tom Adkins and Adrienne Barbeau.
I would definitely say the Romero story is more focused and all around better, the Argento story is meandering...Keitel's a great actor, but it feels like he didn't really know what was happening at times.
