Review of Two Days, One Night (2014) by Shae S — 21 Mar 2015
I've only seen two of their movies, but anything by the Dardennes is now a must-watch for me. In both of their films I've seen (the other being "The Kid with a Bike"), there's a character of such simple and yet staggering moral character that I can't help but aspire to be like them.
In "Bike," it was the boy's adoptive mother, in this film it's Sandra's loyal and supportive husband. The Dardennes employ a plodding, almost mundane realism that sucks you in and makes the film that much more believable.
And of course, Marion Cotillard's performance is great.
