Review of Two Days, One Night (2014) by Derek R — 25 Aug 2015
I don't quite understand the high rating on the tomatometer. The movie is repetitious; for example, in many scenes Sandra (Cotilliard) stands waiting at a door for someone to answer. And when someone does, she repeats her plea to each almost verbatim.
And does she have more than two T-shirts? It's France, for heaven's sake. Even bluecollar worker women must have more than two shirts, one of which doesn't cover bra straps. And someone who swallows a boxful of Xanax probably isn't ready to go back to work after a bout of depression, anyway.
I found the film tedious and unaffecting.
