Review of Two Days, One Night (2014) by Cody C — 16 Mar 2016
I can't believe this film didn't get an Oscar nomination for best Foreign Language film. I mean it deserved the win in my opinion. The film is beautifully well shot with a story that is so real and believable all the way through.
The story revolves around a women named Sandra who has been on sick leave from her job and suddenly finds out she no longer has a job with her boss giving the other employees a choice of whether to keep her job or get a bonus of a lot of money.
Sandra spends the weekend tracking down her co-workers asking them to vote for her to stay. Marion Cotillard delivers one of the best performances of her career playing a women who in the beginning seems weak, but in the end proves to others and herself that she's strong.
She puts up one heck of a fight in this story. I almost wish she had won the Oscar for best actress. I'll admit it can be a bit slow and boring in just a few spots, but overall it's an outstanding film.
I rate this film as a must see! My grade=97%(A+).
