Review of Two Days, One Night (2014) by Ken G — 07 Feb 2015
Though there's a strong performance from Marion Cotillard, here... (one that garnered her an Oscar nod, this year) I've seen her do more challenging work. The film's brutal but interesting premise (co-workers vote for either their bonus checks, or her further employment) never really resonated emotionally, like I expected it to.
Maybe that's a cultural thing, lost in translation, but to win any awards, it needs to transcend such boundaries. (B).
