Review of Two Days, One Night (2014) by Diana P — 19 Jun 2015
I love foreign film. Especially French (or Belgian-French in this case) but I found this film to be quite odd. I can't put my finger on it but the idea of this very desperate women who has just gotten over being clinically depressed being basically forced by her husband to get her job back by asking her co-workers, about 16 people, to vote for her to get her job back over the course of a weekend or lose their bonuses.
Cotillard playing this unfortunate women desperately in need to stay employed at her factory job or possibly lose her home. She sort of in a numb, dream like manner, goes from house to house of each of her colleagues begging for her job back and causing some real drama along the way; one being beaten to unconsciousness and a marriage that ends. It's just really bizarre.
I won't spoil the end if you decide to see it.
