Review of Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier (2013) by Mikael K — 16 Oct 2010

Ashley Judd manages to save a little bit of what is an embarassingly old fashioned and simplistic thriller. She portrays a strong female police detective who gets personally involved with a case with gutsy energy and strong presence, makin â??Twistedâ?? a watchable experience.

Because nothing else in the film really works well. It feels completely arcaic in its presentation of a police investigation and carries an infuriating undertone of misogyny and prejudice against famale sexuality.

In short this flick is entertainig thanks to the casting, but quite annoying on many lavels at the same time.
