Review of Twisted (2004) by Karolina C — 24 Nov 2006
Another movie where one is supposed to figure out who the killer is, movies I usually love. Here though, when recently promoted homicide detective Jessica Shepard, portrayed by Ashley Judd, have her former lovers die like flies on a hot summer day, the whodunit is ridiculously easy to solve.
Sure, you suspect just about everybody except for the former partner of the lead character, who in one of the first scenes declares that he will never be more than a phone call away whenever she needs him, by which it is understood he will most likely save her in the end.
Otherwise they were all under the surveillance by my wary eyes. Still, as explained, it did not take me long to find the real killer. There was really never any doubt and, despite what the director wants to create, the psychological problems and blackouts Shepard has are no real mystery.
No, all in all this movie was not that good, just acceptable, and proves once and for all it takes more than a strong cast to carry a movie.
