Review of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992) by Curtis P — 06 Jun 2010
There are very very particular criteria that a viewer must fit to watch and appreciate this movie. Top two: You need to have seen the show, and you need to know how dark and horrific the general aesthetic of Twin Peaks truly is.
This is a Lynch piece, so it's odd. The acting is magnificent, the writing is excellent, the abstract nature of the film is well intact, but I can't recommend this to anyone who doesn't AT LEAST fit the two primary criteria, because this film is immensely dark and very sad.
With that out of the way, this is a magnificent film and for any legitimate fan of Twin Peaks, it's a film that can't be missed.
