Review of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992) by Nicholas N — 22 Jan 2011
Fire Walk With Me is everything you would want from a Twin Peaks film. David Lynch expands the Twin Peaks story by visiting the last days of Laura Palmer and providing a detailed back story of Bob and Man From Another Place. This movie provides all the surrealism and symbolism you would expect from a Lynch project.
The main problem I come across from others is that you have to be familiar with the tv show to understand and enjoy this film. Personally I disagree. I first watched this film without seeing a single episode and of course I was baffled but no more than Mulholland Drive or Inland Empire made me feel. I thought the film was excellent and it made me want to learn more about the Twin Peaks world. Since then Twin Peaks has become my favorite tv show.
Fire Walk With Me will confuse and disturb you. So if you're in the mood for something really bizarre, you should check it out.
