Review of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992) by Ian L — 27 Feb 2012
Even I, a hardcore Lynch-fan, found Twin Peaks - Fire Walk with Me a sub-par film. Although some individual scenes and set-pieces are undeniably interesting in a typical lynchian fashion, too much of the film is consumed by dead-end plot threads, overacting, and ridiculous imagery that conjures nothing but laughs and head scratches.
Mostly though, I don't like how this movie screams of wasted potential. This was our last opportunity to spend time with the residents of Twin Peaks and its just such a shame that we aren't able to have a more heartfelt goodbye.
