Review of Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983) by Anony M — 18 Apr 2011
In 1983 four directors at the peak of their career collaborated on churning out this fun nostalgic romp based on the hit series 'The Twilight Zone'. It would include a few noteworthy actors and a brilliant score by Jerry Goldsmith. It would also include tragedy. During the making of the film, segment one had a mishap concerning the death of Vic Morrow as well as two children involved in a helicopter crash. It was highly publicized during it's release which grossed 6 Million in it's opening weekend and to go on grossing 29 Million world wide. It wasn't much of a success the executives have hoped for, but it has achieved a cult following.
Each segment is like a building block to the final segment which is probably the most insane of the other three. It's a worthy addition to the anthology horror genre and a real favorite of mine.
