Review of Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983) by S.r. H — 05 Oct 2014
This is probably one of the better movies based on a TV show. Not the best. But still pretty good. I like how it's a segment film with four stories. I always felt that the not-so-scary Twilight Zone episodes were meant to teach you a lesson, and they do that pretty well.
The first two segments teach you to "keep a young mind" and "don't be a racist prick". The last two segments are the scare-the-crap-out-of-you parts. And, boy, do they do a good job! The puppets are so trucking creepy! The gremlin jump scare in the last segment always gets me! I don't know if all of the segments are based off an episode from the show.
The only one that I know is based off an episode is the last segment, which is based on the episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet". I don't like the way Valentine is portrayed in the movie. I feel he's too over exaggerated.
If you love the original Twilight Zone show, absolutely check this movie out! And if you think the Twilight Zone is a Twilight Fan Website, SHAME ON YOU!!!
