Review of Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983) by David H — 07 Aug 2010
The Landis and Spielberg's segments in this anthology are not very good. Landis' segment is rather heavy handed and Spielberg's is super sappy and goes on a bit longer than necessary.
Dante's is almost good and fantastically surrealistic but then the last 5 minutes are just terrible.
Miller's is the most successful largely because of Lithgow's performance and because it sticks closer to the original than the others.
If you want some Twilight Zone, stick with the original series. This just doesn't do it justice.
