Let's start off with the fact that I hate romance. I strongly dislike Pattinson. I only watched this movie to know what I "hate", if you know what I mean (I didn't expect to even remotely enjoy this movie).

The camera work seemed to go in annoying bursts at times. Maybe it was the director's style, or was supposed to contribute a certain "feeling" to the movie, but for me it didn't work.

Bella's expression... it would seem Kristen Stewart has only two different expression, and the second is a version of the first. NOT entertaining. She looks like someone hit her on the head, repeatedly, and how anyone could find that attractive, I do not know. Least of all a bunch of guys...

Compared to Bella, Edward was okay- shockingly, because as mentioned above, I do not like Robert Pattinson at all.

Peter Facinelli, on the other hand... Wohoo! Totally made of win, if I may say. The hair is something to get used to, but... I got used to it. His acting was superior compared to the rest of the cast.

Bella's inner monologue and the lack of explanations when something suddenly happened was awkward and stiff at best; she had this sudden emotional change when it came to Edward, but it was only explained as an afterthought when she'd been acting rather oddly for a while already. Inner monologue usually prevents that from happening, because you stay up-to-date with how the character is feeling...

Another annoying fact is that how conveniently everyone got a gf/bf in the circles. No singles - other than the people who are going to cause some troubling feelings in already established couples...

The vampires, then... Sparkling? (that is just WRONG, and the sound they put in there with the glitter made me holler with laughter because it was that sad - and did I mention wrong?). Playing baseball while it thunders? It's good Bella gets it, because I don't. Making vampires MORE suitable to our current society by stripping them of all of their weaknesses that usually define their existence was a little lame. At least they are still pale and cold, although one can wonder how no one's ever noticed that before - especially as Daddy Vamp is a doctor. I bet he always has hold hands... Lol. But really, recreating the whole set of rules about vampires is merely brought about, I suppose, to enable one of them having an affair with a normal girl and not make it stand out so badly. How romantic....

The special effects were very dodgy. The speed thing was... ridiculous. You would thing today you were able to make something a bit more realistic even with a smaller budget.

The story hurried forward at places. This of course meant making everything seem even more convenient as pieces fell together just nicely enough to bring about the desired ending.

Not as bad as I expected. Not much better than I dreaded either.
