Movie Review: This faithful adaption deserves the best regard for producing an indie-blockbuster film, as equally potent as its source material. The story of forbidden love and teen angst: 1.5 credits.

Almost around 2 years ago, reading these books felt like some sort of escapism for me. I would stay up all night trying to finish, chapter by chapter, the whole 4-books trilogy. I'm a book reader at heart.

I loved the idea of being able to just forget who you are for an hour or so and just be able to follow characters that you feel somehow connected to. A good book is a book that can easily catch a reader within minutes of reading the first few pages.

It also has to have a constant pace or suspense that builds throughout the story, in order for me to feel somewhat entertained. A good book needs to have characters that have a strong sense of morality and, as well as, being able to fully describe the surroundings of a particular scene that they are in.

If I want to be able to sink my teeth into a book, it needs to be told in a detailed, descriptive manner. It has to transport me to a different world, dimension or cultures. A good book needs to be written down without as much grammatical mistakes, so that it doesn't distract readers to reread again and again.

So is twilight a good book or what? twilight is almost a pure definition of a good book. It isn't masterful literature (that's for sure) but it almost equals close enough. There is no doubt why Summit Entertainment decided to make a film adaption of Stephanie Meyer's widely distributed, hugely acclaimed book trilogy.

The movie isn't as great as the book but what it lacks, it makes up for. Melissa Rosenberg does try to follow closely to the book which I wish she hadn't because what works on page doesn't necessarily work on screen.

The actors and actresses of twilight: 1.5 credits. Kristen Stewart nails the hair tugging and lip biting expressions of Bella Swan. Her character is actually likable because she is convincing and relate-able to many teens.

There's nothing spectacular about her, she almost looks bored but isn't that what all teens are today. Edward Cullen is played by Robert Pattinson who seems to be the right choice. He's tall, brooding, has long hair and in most respects, hot.

The reason why this movie worked was because these two connected in an intimate and awkward way. They were convincing and in every way sold this forbidden love story. The other actors are really good: Billy Burke as Bella's stoic-husky father, Charlie Swan, Anna Kendrick as the talkative Jessica, Gil Birmingham as Billy Black, etc.

the music and soundtrack of twilight: 2 credits. Carter Burwell is the right composer for this kind of film. His tracks simply is a work of art. He composes tracks that make you feel like your part of the cold cloudy mist of Forks, Washington.

He infuses more tension, emotions, danger and longing in the scenes. The soundtrack is not so much rock nor is it so much country music. It's indie rock with catchy beats. The best tracks are "Flightless Bird" by Iron & Wine, "Supermassive Blackhole" by Muse, and "Full Moon" by The Black Ghosts.

#the negatives. The Special Effects: -.5 credits If you go to this movie, you don't go for the special effects. It's not the greatest, it's actually pretty bad. The blurry marks around the running vampires easily distracts the viewer.

Sometimes even laughable. A small handful of laughable dialogue, cheesy scenes: -.5 credits. The forest scene, when Edward tells Bella how much he can't live without her (vice versa). It's also a good thing that we don't hear too much of Bella's narrative because reading the book, it can sometimes be very annoying.

The constant obsession about Edwards facial features, his smell, his hair, his body, etc. However, still, she does want to give up her whole life to become a vampire. So there aren't so much good morals in this story (book and movie) twilight-4/5.
