Review of Twilight (1994) by Stephanie B — 23 Mar 2013
I'll start by saying that I read three of the books of the Twilight series and didn't think it went anywhere. Twilight (the first film) is the best of the movies and they should have stopped with the first one because quite literally the story does not really progress, it just complicates and stays as stagnant as Forks.
Kristen Stewart somewhat perfectly embodies the awkward teenager Bella Swan and as corny as Robert Pattinson's puke faces are, it's kind of funny too. I think Twilight starts out quite good but ends up falling flat on its face with villains that are really not that scary and a dumb plot twist that doesn't seem likely but that is the story itself not the movie's problem.
This film is like a classic indi flick and it should have just stayed like this instead of franchising the whole series like it was some literary classic.
