Review of Twentynine Palms (2003) by Kevin W — 06 Jun 2007
Last Tango in Zabrieskie Point----how quaint. Vapid captions aside, TP brings to fruition Brando's ominous parting words for the 70's---"the horror". Dumont disassembles the American horror film and transplants key generic tropes (voyeurism, the spectator as sadist, punishment of the feminine body) into the European art film - result: Euro-metahorror (you heard it here first).
The best horror film since The Exorcist and the most important film of the decade on the savageness of Man.
