Review of Twelve Monkeys (1995) by Jeff B — 24 Jun 2011
Terry Gilliam has done some weird stuff, and this movie is no less weird. I have to hand it to him, when he wants to take a genre to a different level, he does it with style and finesse. I am seriously glad I didn't watch the uncut version, I've heard it's even longer than this one, and this one was long enough on its own.
I wasn't really in love with parts of it though, it had a few plots that we didn't really need to follow in the first place, and the big twist ending was a little easy to call. Though it was an enjoyable movie to watch, it wasn't so easy to sit through in some parts.
I loved Brad Pitt's performance, of course. Bruce Willis also put forth a great effort, and succeeded! A solid movie all around.
