Review of Twelve Monkeys (1995) by Garrett C — 16 Aug 2011
An absolutely brilliant sci fi. It's a very different film that mixes a time travel story with post-apocalypse setting. Brad Pitt's performance as a psycho is hilarious, but the main thing to see this for is really Gilliam's wild and intensely interesting settings.
This and Brazil share many similarities, although the big difference between this and Brazil is that Twelve Monkeys is much more about the great story where Brazil is for dropping your jaw in awe at the visuals.
The plot twists and mystery make for a much more interesting story line than Brazil's simple story of boy wants girl. I would highly recommend this film for anyone who wants to see something very different, post apocalypse, or science fiction.
