Review of Twelve Monkeys (1995) by Bradley W — 05 Jun 2012
12 Monkeys is a great thriller about a grim future, and Terry Gilliam's best film in my opinion. The script sometimes gets really jumbled up, but overall it was an incredible look at the future and with a concept that they use very well.
The cast was also one of the highlights. Bruce Willis is one of my favorite action stars, but what I love even more about him is that he does these more dramaticand serious roles incredibly well, most notably in The Sixth Sense.
Madaleiene Stowe does her role very well and I was actually expecting not to like her in this. Brad Pitt plays one of his finest roles here, with his paranoid personality I was very comvinced that his character was real and that is a rare thing to find in a actor.
This film overall is incredibly well done, and although the story gets mixed up at times, it still was able to provide a smart and entertaining experience for me.
