Though often diverging into the nonsensical, 12 Monkeys manages to remain mostly coherent -- and its quality is ensured by magnificent performances by Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt, as well as an intriguing premise and a screenplay with multitudes of surprises up its sleeve.
