Review of Twelve Monkeys (1995) by Farron K — 27 May 2015
A good deal worse than I remember. Bruce Willis is a time-traveling convict who is sent back to the early '90s to try to figure out how a viral pandemic that kills most of the world's population begins, so that his steampunk weirdo future leaders can manufacture a cure for it.
Brad Pitt serves in one of his lesser roles as a crazy dude who seems to be the ringleader of the plaguebringers. Madeleine Stowe is a psychiatrist who tries to help Willis when he shows up in 1990 totally nutty, but eventually tries to help him in his task.
The plot has the typical build-up to the ultimate showdown scene, but then it just leaves you with an ending that resolves nothing. It's decent for what it is, but certainly not worth watching unless you're really into seeing Bruce Willis drooling and acting like a crazy person.
