Review of Twelve Monkeys (1995) by Jc E — 22 Jul 2015
Time travel Sci-Fi movie with an intense mind numbing intelligent story and a fantastic cast. This time travelling role was the best film role for Bruce Willis because it combined brains with brawn. While the goal of Bruce Willis was to travel back in time to prevent the worst biological terrorism wiping out 5 billion people, the message ultimately was history cannot be changed.
Time traveller just get caught in the loop with time and become the history that would lead to the future and than looping back to repeat the process over and over like a broken record to infinity. For Bruce Willis, for one brief moment in time, the seven year old James Cole crossed paths with the 45 year old James Cole.
The climatic twist that defied the laws of time and space to extreme. The rest of the supporting cast was nothing but magnificent. The damsel in distress Madeleine Stowe and the brilliant rising young star Brad Pitt, who played the loony bin to perfection.
More than a match for Jack Nicholson in 'one.
